Fishertown of Hilton has an area of eight acres which was included in the rental of Fearn Abbey 'for furnishing fish to the place'.

Blacktown was also a very small hamlet which was raised on the beach behind the chapel of Hilton, St Mary's Chapel.

These illustrations were taken from 'Down to the Sea' by Jessie MacDonald and Anne Gordon
